June 2024 – Food Angel

At CEI, we believe in actively contributing to the well-being of our community. As part of our enduring commitment to social responsibility, our team once again had the privilege of dedicating a day to volunteer with Food Angel, a vital Hong Kong-based food rescue and assistance program. This event builds on our long-standing support for their incredible work.

During last year’s volunteer day, our dedicated employees focused on assisting directly with the meal preparation line. It was a hands-on experience that allowed our team to see firsthand the efficiency and scale of Food Angel’s operations. The positive energy and collective effort from our colleagues were inspiring, knowing that their work directly contributed to providing healthy meals for those facing food insecurity.

June 2023 – Food Angel

Established by the Bo Charity Foundation in 2011, Food Angel operates with an inspiring dual mission: to rescue edible surplus food and transform it into nutritious meals for those in need.

Their comprehensive process involves collecting food from various sources across the city that would otherwise be discarded. This rescued food then undergoes meticulous sorting, preparation, and cooking in their state-of-the-art kitchens. The resulting hot meals and food packs are distributed freely to vulnerable groups, including the elderly, low-income families, and homeless individuals, providing crucial support while also making a significant environmental contribution by diverting food from landfills.
